Contract is expected to be awarded in June 2024. We are looking for a results-driven Cataloger with experience in collecting, populating, storing, and maintain media and metadate within an ILS in Springfield, VA. This data will be derived from NGA's collection of geospatial and textual products (maps, charts, CDs, DVDs, textual material, intelligence documents, handheld photography and digital datasets). Responsibilities: Populate Integrated Library Systems (ILS) database using current NGA modified MARC 21, AACR2R, and RDA standards.
Follow all established NGA cataloging guidelines.
Conduct metadata reviews and verification of data integrity.
Request and maintain access to security domain systems (SBU/NIPR, SecNet, NGANet).
Provide weekly metrics tracking number of items cataloged.
Transportation of physical media (up to 25lbs.)
Utilize a ladder in the scope of filing.
Maintain proper file management in accordance with division standards.
Conduct collection maintenance services; e.g. filing, bar codes, storage, in process mail, etc. Required Qualifications: Course work in Cartography or Geodesy; 1 year of demonstrated experience working with metadata and coordinate systems (MGRS, Lat/Long, UTMs); or 1 year of demonstrated work experience applying MARC 21, AACR2R, or RDA standards Proficient in computer-based data entry.
Basic understanding of Military or Federal Mapping Standards. (Enumeration; Chronology; Marginalia).
Ability to support movement and organization of physical media by carrying boxes (up to 25lbs) and climbing a ladder
TS/SCI Clearance Desired Qualifications: Knowledge of library clerical procedures and practices.
Understanding of MARC 21, AACR2R, and RDA standards.
Experience with customer service.
