ACCEPTABLE LICENSURES ARE LMSW, LPC or LLP or the respective limited license with the State of Michigan) Candidates must have ONE of listed licensures to be considered.

Pay is dependent on Licensing and Experience TGC is grant-based, no flexibility in offered salary
Salary - (Salary based on experience, range is New Grad to 16+ Years) incentive pay available

As a Foster Care Therapist, you will be responsible for the following:
Responsible for providing mental health treatment and case management services.
Services are delivered in the home or community based on the needs and preferences identified by the treatment team.

Must be willing/able to work a non-traditional schedule based on the needs of the families served.
Must be able to deliver foster care clinical services and implement interventions that fall within the fidelity of the treatment model.

Must be able to deliver behavioral therapy that targets school behavior and individual behavior.
Responsible to help coordinate and integrate services that are provided to individual child by multiple service providers and to identify and eliminate barriers to effective service delivery.
Must maintain flexible work schedules and cell phone as needed.

Must have professional license (either LMSW, LPC or LLP or the respective limited license)

Must have master's degree in social work, counseling or psychology

Must have a minimum of 8 months experience in mental health treatment of minors (experience may include clinical internship via master's program)

Must have valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Required
Additional requirements include: cultural competency, ability to work effectively with a diverse population, the ability to engage and maintain therapeutic relationships with children and families in a variety of modes of treatment, the ability to develop collaborative relationships with other unit staff and providers, effective communication skills, and a willingness to be flexible.
Cannot accept candidates who are on student/work visas, and/or require sponsorship to work in the U.S
at this time.

A group of concerned residents and educators recognized the need for mental health services in our area and joined forces in 1958 to help form The Guidance Center

Our expertise in mental health and wellness, early childhood education, free preschool for income-eligible families, intellectual & developmental disabilities services and support, mentoring, substance-use disorder, Kids-TALK Children's Advocacy Center, Champions of Wayne, Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC), Nurture the Future, and research and evaluation helps more than 15,000 children and adults annually work on their own personal triumphs in life.
