Role Summary: The Cartographer will apply geospatial knowledge to acquire, analyze, compile, and disseminate location-based information and intelligence to populate, update geospatial databases and create GEOINT products. Responsibilities includes referencing source materials, update and/or create geospatial database entries, maps, and charts; submit work through the QA/QC process and meet deadlines. Will provide services to the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency's (NGA) Source Directorate. Work Environment:

• Location is flexible: NGA offices in St Louis, MO

• Travel up to 15% of the time Responsibilities:

• Utilize geographic names information from the Geographic Names Database (GNDB)

• Follow standard operating procedures and applies basic tradecraft skills

• Complete cartographic finishing, feature extraction from maps, charts or various imagery sources, attribution population, and related experience

• Work with minimal oversight and often lead smaller teams in their service execution

• Assist subordinates in developing tradecraft skill in order to meet work objectives

• Collaborate with Government and other stakeholders to provide accurate technical information that contributes to synergized analysis that is better than the sum of the individual parts Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in geography, cartography, imagery analysis or military equivalent; Additional experience can be substituted for education

• 3 - 12 years of experience in geography, cartography, and Geographic Information Systems (GIS), which includes skill in ArcGIS applications

• Experience creating shapefiles, geodatabases, and features

• Experience working with ESRI Production Line Tool Set (PLTS), Production Mapping, and Defense Mapping extensions or similar toolsets

• Ability to geo-rectify maps, charts and various sources Security Clearance Requirements:

• Active TS/SCI with ability to obtain and maintain a Counter-Intelligence (CI) Polygraph Competencies & Skills:

• Clear and effective written and oral communication with team members and customer(s)
• Comfortable working with a team to achieve project completion
• Understands and applies more advanced concepts and processes to tasks

• Keen attention to detail
