We are looking to hire a skilled carpenter/wood worker with knowledge of various types of construction equipment and materials. This position is responsible for layout, installation, repairing, finishing, and maintaining various structures, fixtures, and buildings. Responsible for all aspects of building and woodworking projects from start-up through completion, including the installation and maintenance of the woodworking equipment. Other duties will include designing, cutting, and measuring materials according to building requests. This position requires strong attention to detail and good communication skills to hit project deadlines in conjunction with other co-workers. Four years of carpentry or equivalent woodworking experience in the field is preferred. Up to $26/hr based on experience Job Responsibilities: Ability to read and interpret blueprints, sketches or building plans. Able to assess the quality of woodwork and materials needed for completing a job. Assisting with structural design, planning, layout, and installation of campus building projects. Conduct repair work and installation of doors, walls, flooring, cabinets, trim, and other fixtures as required. Proficient in using woodworking machines, hand tools or power tools in constructing things. Adhere to all safety rules for the work performed in accordance with the company policies and procedures. Compliance with local building codes, and established health and safety regulations. Requirements/Qualifications: High school diploma. Minimum of 4 years' experience as woodworker or carpentry apprenticeship Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal Ability of working with other woodworkers on various projects. Comfortable using all hand and woodworking power tools. Knowledge of mathematics and basic design. Ability/willingness to learn new skills as needed. Works well under pressure with tight deadlines while maintaining high standards. Physically fit with good hand-eye coordination. Ability to stand for prolonged periods, climb, pull, and lift heavy objects up to 50 lbs. Must have the ability and willingness for work in various conditions. Must obtain certification to operate forklifts and all Lands' End motorized vehicles. Must have a valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
