Job Description: We are seeking a skilled and motivated Crate Builder to join our team. As a Crate Builder, you will play a crucial role in the construction of crates, pallets, and wooden boxes tailored to specific dimensions. The finished products you create will be essential for the safe transportation of bus shelters and their components. The ideal candidate should possess a combination of woodworking expertise, physical strength, and precision to excel in this role.

Responsibilities:

Custom Crate Construction: Utilize your woodworking skills to construct crates, pallets, and wooden boxes according to specified dimensions and requirements. Your work will directly impact the safety and security of the shipped bus shelters and components.

Measurement and Calculation: Read and interpret measurements accurately using a tape measure and other relevant tools. Calculate dimensions and cuts precisely to ensure that each crate is built to the required specifications.

Heavy Lifting: Demonstrate the ability to lift heavy objects without assistance, as the construction materials and finished crates can be substantial in weight. Adhere to proper lifting techniques and safety protocols to prevent injuries.

Adaptable Skill-Set: Possess a versatile skill-set that includes woodworking, cutting, building, and construction techniques. This flexibility will enable you to handle various aspects of crate production effectively.

Forklift Experience: If you have experience operating a forklift, it would be a valuable asset. Safely load and unload materials and finished crates using a forklift when necessary.

Quality Control: Ensure that each crate is constructed with precision and attention to detail. Inspect the finished products for quality and structural integrity, making any necessary adjustments to guarantee the crates' reliability during transportation.

Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety guidelines and protocols within the workshop and while operating equipment. Prioritize your safety and the safety of your colleagues at all times.

Collaboration: Work closely with the team to ensure efficient crate production. Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to coordinate tasks and meet production deadlines.

Qualifications:

Prior experience in woodworking, carpentry, or crate construction is preferred.

Proficiency in reading measurements and performing accurate calculations.

Physical strength and ability to lift heavy objects without assistance.

Familiarity with construction tools and equipment.

Forklift experience is a plus.

Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.

Ability to adapt to changing requirements and prioritize tasks effectively.

Excellent teamwork and communication skills.

Willingness to follow safety guidelines and protocols diligently.
