About the Role

We are seeking a cARMY/AWS DevSecOps Engineer to join our fast-growing IT-project based consulting business. We're looking for a well rounded team member to design and configure cloud native platforms and services as well as establish, monitor, automate, optimize and maintain DevSecOps components such as the CI/CD pipelines. Our engineer will recommend and implement cloud native tools and solutions based on program requirements and expert knowledge of various on premise, cloud based, and hybrid DevSecOps tools and services. Strong working knowledge of both AWS GovCloud Engineering and DevSecOps principles is critical in this role.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Evaluate, analyze and recommend AWS cloud native services, including both Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) and Platform as a Service (PaaS), to meet customer requirements.
Design, implement, configure, deploy and monitor AWS cloud services (EC2, Lambda, S3, VPC, Route 53, CloudFormation, ECR, ECS, EKS, etc) and oversee system networking.
Develop, implement, and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, and Ansible.
Deliver cloud native DevSecOps automation through Jenkins, GitLab, Docker, and other CI/CD tools.
Implement cloud monitoring tools such as CloudWatch and CloudTrail, integrate them into the customer's DevOps processes, and optimize the cloud solution based on the results of such monitoring
Assist with cloud security remediation, ensuring alignment with compliance and regulatory standards.
Work with third party software platforms to remediate non-compliances.
Work with Solution Architects to validate architectural runway and incrementally evolve capabilities
Use the latest cloud technologies to look for ways to improve and automate processes
Build a cloud-based technical architecture that meets the needs and takes advantage of cloud capabilities
Good understanding of DISA cloud computing security requirements guide (SRG) is a plus
Implement AWS services to improve security posture, in alignment with the customer's DevSecOps processes.
Perform on-premises to GovCloud migrations
Provide technical support on the AWS environment
Document aspects of the AWS environment
Ensure the high availability, resiliency, performance, business continuity and compliance capabilities of our cloud services
Lead efforts in automation, builds, deployment, and configuration management

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum five (5) years of experience as an AWS DevOps Engineer.
Minimum one (1) year experience with AWS GovCloud
Minimum two (2) years of experience with CI/CD pipeline creation and management using tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, or AWS CodePipeline
Minimum one (1) year of experience with IaC tools such as AWS CloudFormation or Terraform
Proficiency in key AWS services such as Amazon EC2, S3, RDS, VPC, Route 53, Lambda, Auto Scaling, Elastic Load Balancing (ELB), and CloudFormation
Experience in designing and implementing solutions that ensure high availability and disaster recovery. This involves understanding the principles of fault tolerance, multi-AZ (Availability Zone) and multi-region deployment strategies.
Experience building, operating, and maintaining compliant computing environments in AWS.
Familiarity with AWS monitoring and management tools like Amazon CloudWatch, AWS Config, and AWS Systems Manager for tracking the performance and health of applications and services
Experience with containerization using Kubernetes or AWS ECS and EKS is a plus
Experience working with cloud security scanning tools and applying remediations
Experience working in cARMY cloud environment is a plus
Candidates will need to obtain Security Clearance of Public Trust once hired.
AWS Certifications - AWS Certified DevOps Engineer - Professional (preferred) and/or AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional)
Military experienced candidates are encouraged to apply.
Secret Clearance or above preferred
Able to work onsite in Washington, DC 2-3 days a week
