Up to $300 Sign on Bonus

The Arc Western Montana is seeking dedicated caregivers to join our team in supporting adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities as a Direct Support Professional in our Day Services department. The DSP's role is to provide excellent care through positive, confident, and reassuring interactions with clients to assist them in living as independently as possible.

Qualifications for a DSP-Day Services

  • Compassionate, respectful, and reliable
  • Must hold a valid driver's license with at least five (5) years of a clean driving record
    • Must be able to drive company vehicles, if approved, even in inclement weather, to facilitate outing activities and other job responsibilities.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age or older
  • Ability to pass background check requirements
  • Ability to effectively communicate in English, including electronically
  • Pre-employment drug testing (in accordance with Montana State Law)
  • Related caregiving experience (preferred)
  • Entry-level position (will provide all training)

Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Provides clients with consistent support to complete required programmatic tasks and/or behavioral support plans and documents required data accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Participates in group and one-to-one client activities.
  • Assists clients with meal preparation in accordance with eating protocols.
  • Reviews program books on a regular basis to ensure data is collected in accordance to the various programs.
  • Assists clients as necessary with personal hygiene, changing of clothing, eating, toileting, range of motion exercises, and any other activities of daily living.
  • May serve as a client's job coach, as necessary, and follows expectations of job coaching activities.
  • Cleans and maintain clients' adaptive equipment within correct protocols and guidelines.
  • Suggests and participates in ideas for community outings for clients and takes initiative to seek out new activities for clients. Uses a team approach to identify potential outings by gaining co-worker input and assisting with formulating a plan.
  • Assists with loading of clients to and from outings utilizing safe practices and policies.
  • Maintains client and co-worker confidentiality.
  • De-escalate physical & mental behaviors using Mandt training

Shifts:

  • Day :00am-4:00pm

Full Time Expectations

  • 40 hours per week

Pay Rate:

  • $17.00 to $18.00

Sign-On Bonus:

  • $300 sign on bonus for Full time new hires.
  • Prorated sign on bonus for Part time new hires.
