Summary: Under general supervision provides patient services using imaging modalities. Performs radiographic procedures at a technical level. Responsible for maintaining supply levels. Department: School of Radiography Location: Englewood, NJ Status: Per Diem Shift: Day Hours: 8:00 am - 4:00 pm Job Essentials: Minimum 2 years experience. Provides patient services using imaging modalities. Performs radiographic procedures at a technical level. Provides students with appropriate clinical supervision/instruction and evaluates student's clinical competency. Demonstrates service excellence in all interactions by exemplifying Service Excellence Standards. At all times lives the values of the organization especially as they are expressed in the Service Excellence standards in performing the following: 1. Prepares room and equipment for radiologic procedures 2. Cleans and disinfects X-ray room and equipment. 3. Prepares patient for X-ray exams and procedures. 4. Examines requisition to identify procedure requested and any other special notes or comments. Insures correct patient using two patient identifiers. 5. Explains exams and procedures, positions patient and assists patient at end of procedure. 6. Ensures that patients are as comfortable as possible during exam. 8. Provides appropriate information on images with respect to patient position, time, date, name, uses markers and stickers as required by specific procedure. 9. Prepares trays and contrast media for radiologic procedures using sterile technique when necessary. 10. Measures patient to assist in selecting desired technique factors. 11. Maintains technique charts. 12. Uses immobilization devices, selects MA, time and KV, and provides lead shields, to produce quality radiographs and provide radiation protection. 13. Assists Radiologist/physician during procedures as required. 14. Maintains the necessary supplies in x-ray rooms. 15. Informs radiology charge technologist/supervisor/manager of any unusual occurrences with respect to equipment, patient and daily operations. 16. Observes patient and machine during procedures. 17. Interacts with the patient and responds to his/her needs within a context which recognizes the growth and development process, or the aging process of that patient. 18. Provides services to male and female patients of all age groups. 19. Instructs students on the clinical aspects of radiography. Performs other related duties as required. On Call as required Provides a supervised competency based clinical education for students of radiography. Instructs students in clinical and classroom areas. Supervises the students in practical applications of theory taught in class. Instructs students in safe handling of patients. Instructs the students in proper ethical and professional behavior towards all members of medical team and others they encounter. Maintains accurate records of all didactic and related courses attempted and/or completed by all students. Participates in all meetings as they pertain to the planning process of the School of Radiography. Assists Educational Coordinator with all related duties necessary to maintain high standards of education. Education Requirements: High school graduate or equivalent.with significant tech experience. Associates or Bachelors preferred Satisfactory completion of a two year AMA approved Radiologic Technology Program. License/Certification/Registry: 1. NJ Radiology License 2. Must be A.R.R.T. registered 3. Maintains CPR Certification. Flu Vaccination Requirement Englewood Health requires all newly hired team members to provide Influenza vaccine documentation.
