And everyone, in their own unique way, plays an important part, every day. Job Description I. Major Responsibilities: 1. Performs EKGs 2. Applies holter and event monitors 3. Provides patient education and is supervised in stress test participation. 4. Patient reception, appointment scheduling and other clerical support tasks as needed. II. Position Qualifications: License/Certification/Education: Required: 1. HS Graduate or equivalent (graduate within 6 months of hire) 2. EKG Certification or equivalent (certification within 6 months of hire) Experience/Skills: Required: 1. Minimum 1 year of experience working in a cardiovascular lab or equivalent 2. Computer literate Unless certification, licensure or registration is required, an equivalent combination of education and experience which provides proficiency in the areas of responsibility listed in this description may be substituted for the above requirements. Department-specific competencies and their measurements will be developed and maintained in the individual departments. The competencies will be maintained and attached to the departmental job description. Responsible managers will review competencies with position incumbents. III. Physical Demands and Environmental Conditions: On-the-job time is spent in the following physical activities: Must be able to push/pull equipment on wheels weighing 100 lbs., lift 10-15 lbs., and walk at a brisk pace and be able to stand for long periods of time. This job requires that weight be lifted or force be exerted This job requires exposure to the following environmental conditions: Exposed intermittently to disagreeable odors and sights; exposed to emotional and psychological stresses associated with the care of critically ill and dying patients.
