Job Details

Cardiac Surgery Physician Assistant

• Our team consists of 4 Cardiac Surgeons and 6 Cardiac Surgery PA's.
• The incoming PA will be involved with complex CV surgical cases as part of a team of highly specialized physicians and assistants. The main responsibility of the surgical PA would be harvesting veins, and closing the chest. The odds of performing as a first assist are rare but never zero.
• Rounding primarily in a 20 bed CVICU
• Endoscopic Vein & Radial Artery harvest using the Terumo and or Maquet systems
• Cases include ECMO Insertion CABG, aortic and mitral valve repair/replacement.
• Perform procedures such as central line placement, chest tube placement and arterial line placement.
• Conducts patient interviews and documents patient histories, psychosocial histories, health status and medical problems or potential problems.
• Schedule: Monday - Friday with call 1 out of every 6 weeks
