Global Chemical industry leader is searching for an experienced Capital Project Engineer, who will handle plant level capital projects for a large multi plant operation including chemical, energy/ utilities, and earth moving/ material handling equipment.




Responsibilities:


Prepare engineering scope of work and cost estimates in response to engineering requests submitted by other departments


Project management responsibility associated with capital projects, including specifications, prepare requisitions, oversight on engineering firms, and bid analysis on project work activities


Direct and communicate with outside suppliers, engineering consultants, and construction contractors is required during project management and problem solving. The engineer will have occasional contact with plant environmental department, with regulatory agencies or the corporate team.


Prepare status reports and regularly monitors budgets, contractors, and schedules. Allocates project resources appropriately; approves expenditures


Prepare project status reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends; recommending actions


Direct contract engineering services, ensure project cost control and input in to Oracle database


Prepare annual budget material balances which match the needs of the marketing group with production availability needs


Monitor and report energy consumption by operating departments. Determine steam usage rates and efficiencies and their effect on the cogeneration income. Determine monthly dollar charges and credits for accounting of energy to encourage energy conservation in departments


Maintain safe and clean work environment by enforcing procedures, rules, and regulations. Maintains project integrity and reputation through compliance with federal and state regulations




Qualifications:


BS in Mechanical, Civil, Electrical or related Engineering degree with 5+ years experience as Project Engineer handling plant level capital projects in chemical, pulp & paper, refinery, mining, cement, or related industry


Proven ability with following skills: Project Management, Chemical Manufacturing Methods and Procedures, Process Improvement, Technical Understanding, Safety Management, Supervision, CAD, Oracle systems


PMP certification is desirable


Able to work in the USA without sponsorship, now or in the future.
