Adecco is currently recruiting for a CAD / Mechanical Engineer to work first shift in East Providence, Rhode Island.

This position can be filled as either permanent direct hire (no temp period), or on a temp-to-hire basis depending on candidate experience and preference.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in engineering or related technical field with a focus on CAD.
  • Must be proficient using SolidWorks CAD systems to design and create drawings.
  • Must be proficient using Microsoft Office products.
  • Able to research, understand and implement new technologies for possible cost savings and process improvements.
  • Must have the ability to work independently, proactively and meet deadlines.
  • Utilizes strong communication, leadership, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to read, analyze, interpret, and present technical data, documents, information, and design specifications.
  • Time management skills.
  • Attention to detail, excellent communication skills, positive attitude, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment are a must.

Responsibilities:
  • Use SolidWorks CAD to design progressive tools and dies accurately and efficiently, within specified time frames, to needed engineering specifications.
  • Create 3D models & 2D engineering drawings with computer aided software (SolidWorks); and build up BOM & specification sheet (Specs).
  • Prepare strip layouts, product weight in requested alloys and 2D detailed drawings, making certain the design meets the customer part and die or machine specifications.
  • Provide Tool cost estimates and lead time for production samples.
  • Modify / improve products to eliminate malfunctions and obtain specified functional and operational performance.
  • Evaluate and confirm plastic molding (e.g. injection) & metal tooling process (e.g. progressive die) according to mechanical mold design principle.
  • Provide support to tool room staff, quality control staff and machine operators where needed.
  • Develop strong outside vendor resources to support tooling and automation needs.
  • Recommend Cad software upgrades.
  • Recommend Technical webinars or trade shows.

Pay Details: $34.00 to $40.00 per hour
