Adecco is currently recruiting for a CAD / Mechanical Engineer to work first shift in East Providence, Rhode Island.
This position can be filled as either permanent direct hire (no temp period), or on a temp-to-hire basis depending on candidate experience and preference.

Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in engineering or related technical field with a focus on CAD.
- Must be proficient using SolidWorks CAD systems to design and create drawings.
- Must be proficient using Microsoft Office products.
- Able to research, understand and implement new technologies for possible cost savings and process improvements.
- Must have the ability to work independently, proactively and meet deadlines.
- Utilizes strong communication, leadership, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to read, analyze, interpret, and present technical data, documents, information, and design specifications.
- Time management skills.
- Attention to detail, excellent communication skills, positive attitude, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment are a must.
Responsibilities:
- Use SolidWorks CAD to design progressive tools and dies accurately and efficiently, within specified time frames, to needed engineering specifications.
- Create 3D models & 2D engineering drawings with computer aided software (SolidWorks); and build up BOM & specification sheet (Specs).
- Prepare strip layouts, product weight in requested alloys and 2D detailed drawings, making certain the design meets the customer part and die or machine specifications.
- Provide Tool cost estimates and lead time for production samples.
- Modify / improve products to eliminate malfunctions and obtain specified functional and operational performance.
- Evaluate and confirm plastic molding (e.g. injection) & metal tooling process (e.g. progressive die) according to mechanical mold design principle.
- Provide support to tool room staff, quality control staff and machine operators where needed.
- Develop strong outside vendor resources to support tooling and automation needs.
- Recommend Cad software upgrades.
- Recommend Technical webinars or trade shows.

Pay Details: $34.00 to $40.00 per hour
