Position Summary: The CAD Designer adds value to BAPI and the Manufacturing Team by preparing technical drawings and plans for commercial heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration (HVAC/R) sensors, documenting and recording work.

CAD Designer Principle Responsibilities:

Design and model mechanical components to be used in conjunction with the sensor assemblies

  1. Review and interpret trade documents to assist in the design of the mechanical enclosures
  2. Consult with engineers to discuss and interpret design concepts, and determine requirements of detailed working drawings

Draft detail and assemble drawings of design components, circuitry and printed circuit boards, using computer-assisted equipment or standard drafting techniques and devices.

Monitors ECO/NPR systems for follow up and task completion.

Documents drawing revision history and product standards.

Maintains industry knowledge by attending educational workshops or classes; reviewing related publications; establishing networks.

Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed, including special projects and tasks as delegated supervisor.


Requirements:

CAD Designer Education Requirements (R/Required, P/Preferred):

(R) Vocational School/Technical or Business Certification/College Coursework

(P) Associate's Degree, Trade or Technical School

(P) Bachelor's Degree

Degrees Preferred: CAD, Mathematics or related apprenticeship or work experience


CAD Designer Training, Skills, Knowledge and Experience

Specific Training in this field (R/Required, P/Preferred):

  1. (R) Drafting, Laying Out, and Specifying Technical Devices, Parts, and Equipment
  2. (R) SolidWorks or experience with 3D CAD Software
  3. (P) Basic understanding of HVAC/R
  4. (P) Prototyping experience

Experience/Knowledge in this field (R/Required, P/Preferred):

  1. (R) Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principals involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models.
  2. (R) Some proficiency with computers, Microsoft Office Suite and Solidworks

General Experiences/Knowledge/Skills:

  3. Ability to work within project deadlines
