Summary:

The Cardiology RN collaborates in a team environment to coordinatepatient care in the Cardiology Clinic for multiple areas (Cardiology Clinic,EP/Afib Clinic and Testing Center). This includes nursing assessment,problem identification, planning, reporting of complex clinical data to theappropriate EP/Cardiologist and implementation of the patients plan of care asdirected by the provider.

Qualifications:

Education:

BSN degree highly preferred

Experience:

Minimum oftwo-year cardiovascular clinic experience and/or hospitalnursing experience.

Two yearsexperience in a critical care or cardiac inpatient unit preferred

Two yearsexperience with telemetry monitoring preferred

Licensure:

CurrentRegistered Nurse California license.

MaintainsBLS and ACLS certification

Responsibilities:

Providespre, post-op education for Cardiology and EP procedures.

Educatespatients about their cardiovascular condition and explains treatment options asdirected by the cardiologist or electrophysiologist.

Teachespatients what they can do to prevent the worsening of cardiovascularconditions, the importance of self-monitoring and provide appropriateresources.

Triagespatients physical symptoms/arrhythmias appropriately and consults withcardiologists or electrophysiologists per protocol.

CoversRN Testing Center and Cardiac PET CT Imaging procedures when needed.

Participatesin Transition of Care Management to ensure discharge medications andinstructions are understood by patient and/or family members. Updatesmedication and problem list in the Electronic Health Record and ensuresfollow-up with cardiologists.

Reviewsdaily lab/test results, physician tasks and clinical worklist(s) as assigned.

Assistthe Nurse Supervisor and/or Director on matters relating to nursingpractices and participates in development of policies and protocols for patientcare.

Initiatesand maintains personal professional development as required for continuingeducation.

Maintainspatient confidentiality per HIPPA.

Otherduties as assigned.

The selected candidates compensationwill be determined based on the individuals skills, experience,internal/market equity factors, and qualifications. This posted minimumand maximum range represents the minimum and maximum of what we reasonablyexpect to compensate for the position. Furthermore, all compensationdecisions are ultimately determined in accordance with our compensation philosophy.
