Position Summary

Buyer Planner is responsible for purchasing raw materials, components, and services to meet production and customer requirements. This role evaluates and analyzes supplier quotes, negotiates prices, maintains relationships with vendors, and ensures orders are delivered on time, develops, manages, and maintains relationships with internal team members and external vendors. Ensure on-time execution of projects by close cooperation with suppliers and the Material & Supplier Management (MSM) Board. This roles Coordinates and Negotiates vendor contracts and new vendor set-up documentation. The team member will contribute to the efficiency and success of our vendor relations processes and procedures.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Source, negotiate, and select vendors that meet the company's quality, price, and delivery requirements.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with vendors and suppliers.
  • Monitor supplier performance in terms of quality, cost, and delivery.
  • Review and analyze purchase requisitions and generate purchase orders.
  • Monitor inventory levels to ensure minimum stock levels are maintained.
  • Ensure timely delivery of items and follow up with vendors on late orders.
  • Resolve invoice discrepancies with vendors.
  • Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and other important data.
  • Prepare reports on purchase activity and supplier performance.
  • Be part of the new Material & Supplier Management (MSM) Board; this Board will be represented by a cross-functional team (Sc, Quality, Finance, R&D, TechOps, Regulatory, etc.)
  • Create new Vendor Management Programs and identify ways to improve the current process.
  • Implement vendor selection programs to ensure that the best vendors are secured.
  • Administrate Master Service Agreement in alignment with Legal.
  • Coordinate quality & business audits on critical vendors in collaboration with MSM Team
  • Create and re-evaluate contracts for optimal terms and service.
  • Implement the Supplier Diversity Program for BioTissue.

Skills & Abilities

Essential Duties Definition:

  • In purchasing, buying, and/or planning preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of purchasing principles and procedures.
  • Vendor Management and Negotiation.
  • Inventory control, stocking & purchasing experience required.
  • ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) experience is required.
  • Previous experience in a GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) environment is required.
  • Demonstrates strong analytical, reasoning, trouble-shooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Functions equally well as team member and individual contributor.
  • Clear and concise writing as well as strong oral English communication skills.
  • Demonstrates the ability to lead, develop and motivate others to achieve higher level goals.
  • Persuasive communication and negotiation skills with the ability to work effectively and independently.
  • Flexible and adaptable in meeting business needs.
  • Proficient computer skills, such as Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, databases, MRP systems, and PowerPoint.
  • Desire for a career in supply chain/logistics.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Scorecard/dashboard creation.
  • Position Expertise/Qualifications

    • Education: Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
    • Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience in In purchasing, buying, and/or planning.
    • Previous leadership experience.
    • Effective interpersonal skills, including proven abilities to listen, comprehend, and to communicate clearly and concisely both verbally and written.
    • CPIM or CSCP certification preferred but not required.
