JOB SUMMARY: This position will be directly responsible for coordinating and assisting with the Western Buying Center of Excellence purchasing functions in support of the Company's strategic sourcing and purchasing strategy. The successful candidate should have a strong desire to pursue a career in Strategic Sourcing, Procurement or Supply Chain. The position requires an energetic candidate with experience and passion in procurement methodology, supply chain activities, strong interpersonal and communication skills with a desire to learn. In addition, the position assists in connecting the regional sourcing team to the local property leadership supporting Category Owners in the development and execution of sourcing projects of various complexity levels. The position will report to the Regional Procurement Manager in the Western Buying Center of Excellence and be domiciled at Harrah's Lake Tahoe.KEY JOB FUNCTIONS: Research and identify Buying Center suppliers that meet the needs presented to the sourcing leadership Track national contracts usage and implementation at the local level through the Regional Buying Center of Excellence Assist Procurement by working directly with Accounts Payable to ensure payment to regional vendors Coordinate stakeholder meetings to review and identify local needs at a property and assist to clearly document business requirements for in-scope products and services Review sourcing compliance reports with property leadership to identify savings opportunity Work with Sourcing Category Owners to leverage eSourcing tools Assist in managing the supply chain process including but not limited to confirming and following up on orders, gathering data (RFI), interacting with suppliers and assist the Buyers and Warehouse personal as it pertains to delivery issues Coordinate program implementation, including the setup of contract compliance tools Assist the Regional Buying Center to identify and leverage opportunities for diverse suppliers Manage vendor setup processEDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: 1-3 years in supply chain, operations, or business degree in the field. Demonstrated teamwork and customer service experience Proficient using the Microsoft Professional Suite including Excel, Word and PowerPoint Experience using purchasing systems preferred; Oracle Purchasing, Ariba P2P & Stratton Warren QUALIFICATIONS: Adheres to all regulatory, company and department policies and procedures Excellent organizational skills, accuracy and follow through capabilities Ability to synthesize data, draw conclusion, and make recommendations based on understanding objectives and requirements. Ability to work in a fast paced and adapt to change quickly Basic to intermediate negotiation skills Subject matter understanding in strategic sourcing methodologies and working knowledge of the procurement function Strong verbal, presentation and written communication skills. Ability to communicate across all levels of the organization Customer (internal/external) Centric Able to obtain gaming license(s) required by related state jurisdictions PHYSICAL, MENTAL and ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS: Must be able to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed. Must be able to speak, read, write and understand English. Ability to maintain regular, predictable attendance according to schedule Fast paced environment, multiple tasks to be handled under time constraint. Must be able to handle a heavy business volume, and sensitive situations relating to team member and guest problems, in a timely manner. Ability to simultaneously manage several projects, and not be frustrated by changing priorities and unforeseen obstacles to achieving objectives. Respond to visual and aural cues. Must have manual dexterity to operate all office equipment. Must be able to recognize and respond to individuals with questions. Must be able to maneuver around office and property. Must be able to work independently. Must be able to lift and carry 10 pounds. Must be able to bend, crouch, kneel, twist and work at a desk/counter when performing functions of the job. Positions that have contact with the public require the ability to work in a noisy environment and may be exposed to guests who use tobacco products.
