A renowned organization is currently seeking a talented and experienced Buyer to join their procurement team. The Buyer will play a crucial role in leading procurement activities to ensure the timely and cost-effective acquisition of materials, components, and services essential for manufacturing processes. This role requires adept negotiation skills and a focus on developing strong vendor partnerships to maintain high standards of product quality and service delivery while driving cost reduction initiatives.

Buyer Objectives & Responsibilities:

  1. Leading Procurement Activities: This involves overseeing the acquisition of materials, components, and services in a timely and cost-effective manner. It encompasses coordinating with vendors, negotiating contracts, and ensuring that procurement processes align with organizational goals.
  2. Developing and Maintaining Vendor Partnerships: Building strong relationships with suppliers is crucial for ensuring reliable supply chains. This function involves identifying potential vendors, negotiating agreements, and managing ongoing relationships to optimize pricing, quality, and delivery.
  3. Analyzing Sourcing Information for Process Improvement: This involves evaluating sourcing data to identify opportunities for enhancing procurement processes and reducing costs. It requires analyzing market trends, conducting price benchmarking, and presenting findings to support strategic decision-making.
  4. Driving Cost Reduction Initiatives: Cost reduction is a key objective in procurement. This function involves implementing initiatives to minimize expenses while maintaining quality standards. It requires collaboration with cross-functional teams and continuous evaluation of supply chain efficiency.

Do You Have What it Takes to be this Buyer?

  • Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in industrial manufacturing purchasing/buying.
  • Proficiency with D365, Microsoft's Dynamics 365 platform, is preferred.
  • Experience in managing outside processing vendors and integrating them into the supply chain seamlessly is a plus.
  • Advanced capability in demand analysis and forecasting to optimize inventory management.
