Principle Accountabilities
- Monitors, and maintains procurement activities and duties in compliance with Amsted policies
- Negotiate pricing and contract agreements with product and service suppliers for plant MRO purchases, non-stock purchases & minor project purchases as requested by Director, Purchasing.
- Coordinate RFQs, purchase orders, and procurement activities in support of corporate Purchasing strategy
- Assist with minor raw material and/or production supply purchases
- Execute miscellaneous purchasing/supplier projects as requested by Director, Purchasing.
- Other miscellaneous administrative tasks as assigned.
JOB KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Supply Chain or related area
- 1-3 years of experience in Finance or Supply Chain or related area.
- Proficient in Word and Excel - Intermediate level.
- Working knowledge of an ERP system such as SAP or Oracle.
- Genuine mechanical and/or electrical interest and aptitude.
- Experience in interacting with several departments and leading cross functional teams and projects.
- High energy individual, self-starter, results focused.
- Enthusiastic with the willingness to learn and share ideas.
- Excellent written, oral, communication, leadership and organizational skills
- Strong problem solving skills and analytical skills
Key Challenges
- Coordinating purchasing activities in support or corporate strategy and plant facilities as required
