Principle Accountabilities

  1. Monitors, and maintains procurement activities and duties in compliance with Amsted policies
  2. Negotiate pricing and contract agreements with product and service suppliers for plant MRO purchases, non-stock purchases & minor project purchases as requested by Director, Purchasing.
  3. Coordinate RFQs, purchase orders, and procurement activities in support of corporate Purchasing strategy
  4. Assist with minor raw material and/or production supply purchases
  5. Execute miscellaneous purchasing/supplier projects as requested by Director, Purchasing.
  6. Other miscellaneous administrative tasks as assigned.

JOB KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  1. Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Supply Chain or related area
  2. 1-3 years of experience in Finance or Supply Chain or related area.
  3. Proficient in Word and Excel - Intermediate level.
  4. Working knowledge of an ERP system such as SAP or Oracle.
  5. Genuine mechanical and/or electrical interest and aptitude.
  6. Experience in interacting with several departments and leading cross functional teams and projects.
  7. High energy individual, self-starter, results focused.
  8. Enthusiastic with the willingness to learn and share ideas.
  9. Excellent written, oral, communication, leadership and organizational skills
  10. Strong problem solving skills and analytical skills

Key Challenges

  • Coordinating purchasing activities in support or corporate strategy and plant facilities as required
