The Role and You


In a K-12 Business Development & Sales role, you will join a talented, nimble, and passionate Goodside Health team that relentlessly works to expand access to quality, age-appropriate care that empowers positive health outcomes for every student. You will leverage your proven experiences to strategically identify, develop and grow long-term partnerships in K-12 education as our principal business development lead.?

This person is responsible for signing exclusive, district-wide, in-school healthcare contracts with K-12 schools to deliver sick and well-care to students at no cost to the district.

Essential to this goal is maintaining school district relationships and executing B2B sales and services through the maintenance and development of a successful and profitable network of school district and related relationships. The position title identifies client needs, negotiates sales contracts, closes deals, and keeps clients informed about new offerings, updates, and features. This role serves as the primary connection between the client and Goodside Health during the sales process.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop strategic sales plans to identify sales opportunities and win the business.
  • Manage the entire sales lifecycle, from prospecting through negotiation and closure
  • Promote Goodside Health at educational conferences nationwide to identify potential sales leads and make meaningful contact with existing clients
  • Lead development and submission of proposals, including reviewing and evaluating formal RFP/RFQ opportunities, and ensuring timely, effective responses to these requests.
  • Analyze and communicate trends that may impact current and future business and identify new opportunities for potential sales.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with existing clients, including monitoring and management of contract renewal process.
  • Support coordination of product training to ensure successful implementation.
  • Effectively communicate capabilities of the school-based service portfolio, from our established telehealth program to new and innovative well care solutions.?
  • Provide transparent reporting to effectively collaborate with the Executive Leadership Team as you install and execute the strategic growth plan.
  • Achieve (and exceed.) growth goals by proactively and opportunistically engaging with prospective partners in alignment with budget.
  • Collaborate with marketing and internal partners to fill the opportunity pipeline and maintain CRM databases.?
  • Capitalize on your proven skill set to close deals across an expanding addressable marketplace - with strategic focus on priority geographies.
  • Support other organizational initiatives as needed.


Critical Success Factors for this Role

  • Passion for improving educational outcomes, and the health and wellness of students, their families, and their communities.
  • Minimum of four years of progressive experience in business development and sales in a B2B environment, K-12 education experience strongly preferred. Healthcare experience considered, too.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field of study is preferred; or a high school diploma/GED with additional years of relevant experience.
  • Exceptional communication skills both writing and verbal, and relevant experience in a public speaking setting.
  • Assertive, eloquent negotiation skills with a knack for creating win-win outcomes.
  • Demonstrated capacity to juggle and achieve multiple priorities.?
  • Goal-oriented, self-starting mentality and dedicated work ethic, and ability to work with limited daily oversight.?
  • An appreciation for nuance, adaptability, and perseverance.
  • Ability and willingness to travel to conferences, client meetings, and other events within Texas and domestically, as needed.
  • Ability to commute to Fort Worth or Austin offices as requested
