JOB DESCRIPTION: VAE is looking for an experienced Business Development and Capture Manager to join and help continue the maturity of its capture division. The selected candidate will have responsibility for winning new business, working with a small team to develop and maintain a pipeline of qualified opportunities. VAE's current focus and active work is supporting Army and DISA. While Army experience is preferred, we are looking for a candidate capable of developing and maintaining strong customer and industry relationships as a key contributor to our company growth.
  • Manage all activities necessary to transform qualified opportunities into wins.
  • Support proposal efforts, marketing, communications, competitive analysis, and business development.
  • Work with a small team supporting VAE Services division sales, business development and capture management with emphasis on opportunity identification, qualification, and capture.
  • Shape opportunities and VAE positioning throughout the opportunity life cycle.
  • Responsible for teaming strategies, competitive assessments, inputs to pricing strategy (based on price to win and other competitive assessments), and opportunity gate reviews.
  • Participate in monthly Capture/pipeline meetings to provide insight and updates to opportunities tracked.
  • Contribute to proposal phase activities including support to RFP/RFQ/RFI or Task Order solicitations.
  • Update and maintain opportunity information in sales tool Capture Exec.

QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum Position Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business
  • At least 8 years directly supporting the government in a Senior Capture and/or Business Development role, preferably with Army, US Air Force, or other Federal Civilian Agencies.
  • Must have exceptional oral and written communication skills.
  • Proven ability to win federal contracts and task orders as a Prime contractor.
  • Proven ability to leverage existing partnerships across small, medium and large businesses and build new relationships.
  • Working knowledge of the Shipley Business Development, Capture and Proposal processes.
  • Knowledge and experience working with program management, including program planning and execution.
  • Ability to obtain US security clearance.
