Job Summary Job Summary Under the supervision of the Superintendent or designee, operates a school bus over designated routes to transport school children and do related work as required. May be assigned to perform custodial work; delivery driver work, maintenance and/or grounds work on a regular basis or as needed. Perform mail and courier service for District Office, schools, and departments. Maintain related records and receipts and deliveries. May be assigned general or selected duties of maintenance worker, grounds worker or custodian as needed. Flexible schedules may be required for Athletic Events and Field Trips. (Per Tentative Agreement 10/14/2022) View Job Description Requirements / Qualifications Requirements / Qualifications REQUIRED Possession of a California Class "C" Operators License issued by the State Department of Motor Vehicles. Must provide a current H-6 (within 30 days) of past 10 year driving history. Must have a current TB Test Clearance. Must obtain a Class "A" or "B" California Driver's license with "P" endorsement or School Bus Certificate within the 150 days of the probation period. Training will be provided. Comments and Other Information DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS Education: High School diploma or equivalent Experience: Safe driving practice, minimum of 3 years of experience as a Custodian I, Maintenance I or Grounds I within District or sufficient training and experience to demonstrate equivalent qualifications and aptitude and ability to rapidly learn skills in order to perform driver/utility work. Hours determined by the need of the assignment (s) - flexible hours. Full time and part time position(s). Knowledge of: Cleaning methods, procedures and techniques. Cleaning materials and supplies and equipment, safe working methods and procedures. Interpersonal skills using tact, patience and courtesy. Basic maintenance and grounds tasks. Ability To: Drive district vehicles safely and responsibly. Perform independent and responsible custodial work. Work independently with little direction. Efficiently and effectively use cleaning materials, supplies and equipment. Understand and carry out oral and written directions. Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships. Perform simple and repetitive tasks. Ability to meet physical requirements necessary to safely and effectively perform required duties.
