Budget Personnel & Program Assistant

Position Information

The Budget, Personnel, and Program Assistant serves as the primary administrative and accounting support to the Highlander Union Building with a focus in transactional, financial, and purchasing needs within Facilities Services, HUB Operations, HUB Programs, and HUB Scheduling. The Budget, Personnel, and Program Assistant provides proactive, high-quality, flexible and reliable support that works closely with direct supervisor, the Financial and Administrative Officer, and the HUB career staff. Responsibilities include but are not limited to administrative operational duties and arrangements, accounting and budget support, financial tracking and transacting, purchasing processing and facilitating, student employee payroll and personnel coordinating while adhering to university policies and procedures. This position will support the Highlander Union Building and the Student Success Center's mission, vision, and strategic planning.

The full salary range for the Budget, Personnel & Program Assistant is $27.29 to $39.12 per hour. However, the expected pay scale for this position is $27.29 to $29.92 per hour. We base salary offers on a variety of considerations, such as education, licensure and certifications, experience, and other business and organizational needs.

Applicants must have current work authorization when accepting a UCR staff position. Currently, we are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa for staff.

As a university employee, you will be required to comply with all applicable University policies and/or collective bargaining agreements, as may be amended from time to time. Federal, state, or local government directives may impose additional requirements.

• Bachelor's Degree (Preferred)

Experience Requirements

• Five (5) years related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. (Required)

Minimum Requirements

Skilled in data exporting, tracking, and preparation of spreadsheets, maintenance of financial transactions and documentation using Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe, DocuSign, etc. Knowledge in processing routine accounting transactions with online financial systems, identifying account variances, researching discrepancies, and providing solutions and/or recommendations. Ability to process cash handling, balancing, and deposit preparation and knowledge of standard retail security policies and procedures. Skilled in an customer service environment responding to varied customers, vendors and visitors, meeting and exceeding departmental needs of staff, students, and campus community. Ability to provide administrative support in an office environment such as coordinating administrative activities, meeting office supply needs, drafting and proofreading letters/memos.

Preferred Qualifications

Knowledge with UC online financial and payroll systems.
