Budget Analyst Falls Church, VA Role Summary:
The Budget Analyst will provide specialized support in budget management, including budget planning, execution, and monitoring. The individual will collaborate closely with the Lead Resource Manager to oversee the financial aspects of specific divisions or directorates, ensuring efficient handling of the annual budget. This includes preparing and managing acquisition packages, monitoring their approval stages, and making necessary adjustments under the guidance of the Lead Resource Manager. The analyst is also responsible for creating and maintaining spend plans, phasing plans, and conducting data inputs and extractions from financial management systems for budget-related tasks. The role demands meticulous record-keeping in line with NARA regulations and requires the development of detailed spreadsheets and reports for task scope and deliverable analysis. Administrative duties such as meeting minutes, task tracking, and managing deliverables are also integral to the position. Salary: Up to $120,000 commensurate with experience Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
• Clearance: DoD Secret level.
• A minimum of 10 years of experience in budget execution. Key Responsibilities:
• Offer onsite support to the Lead Resource Manager in budget development, execution, reconciliation, and review for assigned divisions or directorates.
• Ensure acquisition packages are accurately prepared for financial system input, tracked through approval stages, and adjusted as necessary.
• Assist in developing and maintaining spend and phasing plans.
• Perform data management tasks in financial management systems and assist in quarterly reconciliations.
• Support the development and submission of budget-related documents, ensuring compliance with NARA regulations.
• Create and update spreadsheets and reports for tracking budget execution status, requests, and modifications.
• Provide workload data to the Lead Resource Manager for presentation preparation and briefings to senior leadership.
• Record and summarize meeting notes, tracking tasks and deliverables.
• Assist in developing task and deliverable lists from meetings for inclusion in workload status reports.
