DESCRIPTION OF WORK As a Transportation Construction Inspector Supervisor, you will oversee a team responsible for conducting safety inspections on bridges in compliance with the national bridge inspection standards and departmental regulations. Your role will involve supervising and conducting safety inspections on various structural components of existing bridges, including foundations, supports, steel beams, girders, truss members, and concrete footings. Additionally, you will inspect bridge elements such as expansion devices, approach slabs, piers, rivets, bolts, welds, and safety features to ensure compliance with safety standards and identify any potential issues like accident damage or corrosion. Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment Work hours are 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Indiana. Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: One year as a Transportation Construction Inspector; or Two years of construction inspection experience and an associate's degree in civil engineering, mechanical engineering, geotechnical engineering, surveying engineering technology, or a closely related engineering technology; or An equivalent combination of experience and training. Condition of Employment: This position is required to meet the qualifications for a bridge inspection team leader as defined by the current National Bridge Inspection Standards. This position requires possession of a valid non-commercial Pennsylvania Class C Driver's License or equivalent. Other Requirements: You must meet the PA residency requirement.
