Salary: $85,000 - $120,000 per year

A bit about us:

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Safety Manager to join our organization. As a Safety Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing and implementing comprehensive safety programs to ensure the well-being of employees and the compliance with safety regulations. Your primary objective will be to create and maintain a safe work environment, minimizing the risk of accidents, injuries, and occupational hazards. You will collaborate closely with management, supervisors, and employees to promote a safety-conscious culture throughout the organization.

This organization has doubled in size to $500M in the last 4 years. They are looking for someone who has experience as a Supervisor who can grow into a Manager or someone who can continue to grow in their career. This position oversees 50-60 people and can go up to 120 people. OSHA 30 and/or OSHA 510 certifications are strongly preferred. Construction experience is required.

Job Details

Responsibilities:
  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve safety policies, procedures, and programs in alignment with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Conduct regular inspections and audits of facilities, equipment, and work processes to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety standards.
  • Provide guidance and support to management and supervisors in implementing safety initiatives and addressing safety concerns.
  • Develop and deliver training programs on safety practices, emergency response, and the proper use of safety equipment to all employees.
  • Investigate and analyze accidents, incidents, and near-miss events, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrences.
  • Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, incidents, training sessions, and compliance documentation.
  • Monitor industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices in safety management, recommending and implementing improvements as necessary.
  • Collaborate with management to establish safety goals, objectives, and performance metrics, and track progress towards achieving them.
  • Conduct safety meetings, toolbox talks, and other forums to engage employees in safety discussions and reinforce safety awareness.
  • Serve as a resource for employees, providing guidance and support on safety-related matters and responding to inquiries and concerns.

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in occupational health and safety, Industrial Engineering, or a related field. Relevant certifications such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Occupational Health and Safety Technician (OHST) are highly desirable.
  • Proven experience working as a Safety Manager or a similar role, preferably in a manufacturing, industrial, or construction environment.
  • Thorough knowledge of local, state, and federal safety regulations and standards.
  • Strong understanding of safety management principles, hazard identification, risk assessment, and accident prevention strategies.
  • Experience in developing and implementing safety programs, policies, and procedures.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage and influence employees at all levels of the organization.
  • Proficiency in using safety management software, incident reporting systems, and other relevant tools.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze safety data, identify trends, and develop proactive strategies.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities, including the capacity to collaborate with cross-functional teams and drive a safety-focused culture.
  • Certification in First Aid/CPR and knowledge of emergency response procedures.
