OVERVIEW OF THE BOOKKEEPER ROLE:
- Verify, allocate, and post details of business transactions to general ledger
- Bookkeeper summarizes details in separate ledgers and transfers data to general ledger
- Reconcile and balance accounts
- Compile reports to show cash receipts and expenditures, accounts payable and receivable, profit and loss, and other items pertinent to operation of business
- Bookkeeper calculates employee wages from records and prepares checks for payment of wages
- Prepare withholding, Social Security, and other tax reports
- Bookkeeper generates monthly statements to customers
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS FOR BOOKKEEPER ROLE:
- Full charge bookkeeping experience
- Attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Associates degree preferred for Bookkeeper role
