Job Description:

We are currently seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles and practices, along with hands-on experience in bookkeeping and financial record-keeping. As a Bookkeeper, you will be responsible for accurately recording financial transactions, reconciling accounts, and producing financial reports for our clients.

Key Responsibilities:

Maintain Accurate Financial Records: Record day-to-day financial transactions, including purchases, sales, receipts, and payments, in accordance with established accounting principles and procedures.

Accounts Payable and Receivable: Process invoices, track payments, and manage accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, ensuring timely and accurate payments and collections.

Bank and Credit Card Reconciliations: Reconcile bank statements and credit card statements on a monthly basis, identifying and resolving discrepancies as needed.

General Ledger Maintenance: Update and maintain the general ledger by posting journal entries, adjusting entries, and ensuring proper coding and classification of transactions.

Financial Reporting: Prepare and distribute monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, for review by management and clients.

Payroll Processing: Assist with payroll processing tasks, including calculating employee hours, preparing payroll checks, and remitting payroll taxes and withholdings.

Tax Preparation Support: Provide support to tax preparers by organizing and maintaining financial records, preparing supporting documentation, and assisting with tax filings as needed.

Financial Analysis: Assist in analyzing financial data and preparing financial analysis reports to support decision-making and planning processes.

Compliance: Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, regulations, and tax laws, and assist in preparing documentation for audits and reviews.

Client Communication: Communicate regularly with clients to address inquiries, provide financial updates, and ensure client satisfaction with bookkeeping services.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.

Proven experience (2-3 years) in bookkeeping, accounting, or a related financial role, preferably in a professional services environment.

Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, or Sage) and Microsoft Excel.

Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices, including GAAP.

Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and financial record-keeping.

Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.

Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and interact professionally with clients.

Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion with sensitive financial information.
