BJA- Substitute School Nurse

Perform the duties as school nurse by providing for the general health and well-being of students. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: See students who are experiencing health issues during school hours. Be the liaison between the school and parents for student health issues. Provide first aid care for minor injuries that occur at school. Communicate with teachers and staff to ensure the safety and well-being of students. Administer medications and monitor delegated medication administration. REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: Current nursing licensing requirements completed Caring nature; empathetic Keep detailed records Emotionally stable; adaptable Quick thinker; great judgment Great communicator; excellent interpersonal skills Problem-solving skills Professionalism Assist injured students when needed Occasionally lift/carry up to 100 lbs. and push/pull up to 40 lbs. Required Education: Nursing Degree
