BIM/VDC Technician

Overview Manage 3D models and drawings to support pre-construction and field teams coordination. Position Description VDC/BIM Technician responsibilities and abilities include but are not limited to the list below. Proficient with Autodesk AEC Suite (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit, Navisworks). Understand the means and methods of construction of underground utilities, industrial/water/wastewater piping, earthwork, and concrete structures and use that knowledge to guide the development of BIM models and surface models. Assist in the coordination of models both internally and externally. Review BIM models and provide constructability and construction sequence feedback. Model piping systems for underground and overheated systems. Model concrete building for lift drawings, rebar shop drawings and concrete formwork. Perform takeoffs from the model to assist pre-construction and field teams. Periodically travel to project sites to coordinate with on-site project staff and maintain familiarity with project site conditions. Work with VDC Lead Assumes additional responsibilities as directed. Maintain working knowledge of all programs and platforms required for role. Willingness to learn company design methods procedures for CAD and VDC techniques and take directions. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. o Bachelor's degree in engineering, or equivalent combinations of technical training, and/or related experience. o 1 year of industry experience. o Experience 3D modeling in Civil 3D, Open Roads Design, Revit or Agtek. o Experience providing BIM coordination services on major and complex projects using coordination platforms such as Navisworks, Trimble Connect, Revizto or Autodesk Construction Cloud to collaborate on projects. o Microsoft Office and Bluebeam expertise required o Computer Programming (Revit and AutoCAD API) experience a plus. o Dynamo experience is a plus o Problem solving, troubleshooting capabilities.
