Chicago Cornea Consultants, LTD is seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Billing Specialist to join our team. As a Billing Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring accurate and timely billing processes for our practice. This position is for a full-time experienced Billing Specialist who can demonstrate proficiency in medical billing, including knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding, insurance claim submission, and payment processing. Experience working in an ophthalmology or healthcare setting is highly preferred.

Candidate must have exceptional attention to detail, be highly organized, and possess strong problem-solving skills. This role requires the ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high level of accuracy. Excellent communication skills are essential, as the Billing Specialist will interact with patients, insurance companies, and other members of the healthcare team.

Looking for a Full-time Billing Specialist to join our team. Prior experience in Billing required, preferably in ophthalmology or other healthcare settings.The billing/collections clerk is responsible for the accurate and timely completion andsubmission of Medicare, Medicaid, private payer and patient billing, and accountsreceivable tracking and follow-up. As well as other admin duties related to billing and insurances.

Responsibilities

Review and verify accuracy of patient information, insurance coverage, and medical codes

Prepare and submit insurance claims for ophthalmology services, ensuring compliance with billing regulations and guidelines

Follow up on outstanding claims and denials to ensure timely and maximum reimbursement

Process and reconcile insurance payments, making adjustments as needed

Resolve billing discrepancies and appeals by working closely with insurance companies and patients

Assist with patient billing inquiries and provide excellent customer service

Maintain accurate and up-to-date billing records and documentation

Requirements

Minimum of 3 years of medical billing experience, preferably in an ophthalmology or healthcare setting

Strong knowledge of medical billing regulations, including ICD-10 and CPT coding

Proficiency in billing software and electronic medical records systems

Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and recordkeeping

Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work well under pressure

Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to collaborate effectively with insurance companies, patients, and healthcare professionals

Highly organized and able to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
