Responsibilities of the Billing Specialist:
- Prepare and submit medical claims to insurance companies and government agencies.
- Respond to billing inquiries from patients, insurance companies, and internal stakeholders in a timely and professional manner.
- Reconcile accounts receivable to ensure accurate and complete billing records.
- Review medical codes for accuracy and compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Post payments and adjustments to patient accounts accurately and efficiently.
- Investigate and resolve claim denials, including appeals and resubmissions.
- Maintain thorough and accurate documentation of billing activities and communications.
- Generate and analyze reports related to billing activities, including aging reports and revenue projections.
Minimum Qualifications for the Billing Specialist:
- At least 3-5 years of medical billing experience
- Ability to work independently
- Strong organizational skills
- Health care or non profit experience is a plus
