A bit about us:

A well-established medium-sized law firm located in downtown Chicago is currently seeking a Billing Clerk. This role, representing the Accounting Department, involves serving as a key member providing full-service support to attorneys on all billing-related functions. The Billing Clerk will be responsible for accurately editing, preparing, and processing attorneys' invoices in a timely manner. Collaboration with billing attorneys is essential to understand the details of their billing practices and client guidelines. Additionally, the Clerk will conduct any necessary research to resolve billing issues and ensure compliance with client guidelines and agreements.

Job Details

Education:

• Associate degree required
• Bachelor's degree preferred

Experience:

• 1-2 years of previous legal billing experience required
• Must be technically proficient with law firm billing systems
• Experience with e-billing platforms preferred
• Prior experience with Centerbase software is a plus
• General knowledge of law firm operations and accounting procedures

Skills:

• Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and 10-key calculator
• Excellent math aptitude and understanding of general accounting principles

• Demonstrated ability to provide quality customer service

Advisory Role:

• Ability to act in an advisory capacity to attorneys on all billing-related matters
