Job Summary:
Provides human resources expertise to the business and advises on all matters related to human resources related issues
Responsible for understanding, interpreting, and ensuring compliance with all relevant employment legislative requirements
Essential Job Functions:
-Leading results and effectively/collaboratively working with others.
-Attracting, developing, and retaining outstanding talent.
-Understand the applicable labor laws, regulations, and contractual language and be able to effectively communicate to employees and leaders the process and requirements involved.
-Facilitate legal and regulatory compliance to all internal and external reporting entities by preparing and maintaining required reports and policies, handling unemployment claims, and conducting required investigations.
-Current knowledge of best practice human resources processes and tools in the areas of performance management, compensation, recruiting, talent development and succession.
-Business working knowledge: Demonstrates understanding of the financials and metrics of the business
Shows appreciation for, understands, and balances the needs of employees with the needs of the business.
-Responsible for providing guidance and support on performance management concerns through fair and consistent application of appropriate disciplinary procedures and/or legal requirements.
-Understanding and managing leave of absence policies including Americans with -Disabilities Act (ADA), FMLA/CFRA, etc.
-Processing bi-weekly payroll and understanding/programming of the system.
-Managing temp labor workforce
-Achieves results fast, individually and through teams - can manage data and multiple points of view quickly and creatively to arrive at a balanced solution.
-Managing employee benefits and enrollments including time and attendance, time-off policies, medical benefits, annual enrollments and 401(k).
-Create and provide new employees with a comprehensive onboarding program to enable a smooth transition into the Organization.
-Managing Companywide Employee Benefits and Building Insurance policies and renewals.
-Prepare internal HR-related documents including employment, promotion and transfer letters, and termination forms.
-Manages WC Claims.
-Managing Captive and liability claims
-Representing the Company in labor, safety, and OSHA-related matters
-Demonstrates high capacity and continually strives to learn, grow, and improve.
-Manages and represents the company in OSHA-related activities.
-Oversees all HR-related functions of three company sites.
-Maintain confidentiality and accuracy of appropriate documentation throughout employment history for all employees.
-Ability to work efficiently under pressure.
-Keen sense of time management and flexibility
-Ability to multi-task
-Previous supervisory and project management experience is a must.
-Ability to work across multiple departments.
-Solutions-oriented and hands-on attitude.
-Strong judgment - the ability to balance different interests.
-Training/mentoring experience is highly desirable
Minimum Qualifications:
-Bachelor's degree in business, human resources management or a related field
-Minimum of 10 + years HR Management and Generalist experience, within a manufacturing facility; food manufacturing highly desirable.
-Strong knowledge of CA HR laws, regulations, and best practices
-Excellent computer skills, Excel, Word, Power Point
-Experience with Rippling systems
-Bi-Lingual (English/Spanish)
-Excellent communications - written and oral - including presentation skills and translations (English/Spanish).
