Qualifications:
- Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing ( Bachelor's Degree preferred).
- Current unencumbered Registered Nurse license from the Nevada State Board of Nursing.
Skills:
- Knowledge of psychiatric and medical nursing procedures.
- Familiarity with code procedures and Mental Health Laws.
- Ability to operate in an unstructured environment, managing multiple priorities.
Experience: A minimum of 2 years' experience as a registered nurse in a behavioral health care facility preferred.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive nursing assessments and patient interviews.
- Document patient information, nursing care, and reassess changes in the patient's condition.
- Delegate staff assignments based on patient needs.
- Administer medication accurately and transcribe and carry out physician orders.
- Provide education to patients and families and document discharge instructions.
- Act as the patient's advocate, ensuring patient rights are upheld.
- Participate in Case Management activities, facilitate discharge planning, and assist with program evaluation.
- Adhere to safety protocols, infection control measures, and facility policies and procedures.
Work Environment:
- Indoor, climate-controlled environment with exposure to patients with psychiatric and medical complications.
- OSHA Category 1 tasks may involve occasional exposure to blood and infectious materials.
- Physical demands include sitting, stooping, standing, walking, and lifting materials up to 35 lbs.
