Behavioral Health Therapist II PRN Inova Fairfax Medical Campus is seeking a Behavioral Health Therapist II PRN to join the Merrifield Behavioral Health Center team. This PRN (as needed) position anticipates an average of 1-2 weekdays each week for intermittent staff relief. Day shift hours from 8:30am to 4:00pm. See Full List of Benefits Here: 2024 INOVA BENEFITS GUIDE Requirements for consideration: Master's Degree, PhD, PsyD, EdD in mental health, social work, Counseling, or behavioral health-related field or degree. Two years of experience in mental health/substance use disorder treatment, psychoeducational programming. Experienced in brief, targeted, evidence-based interventions (crisis intervention, trauma, integrative therapies). Basic Life Support within 3 months of hire Crisis Prevention within 6 months of hire Specialty certification is required for Adult Ambulatory Behavioral Health is preferred. (e.g., Certified Substance Abuse Counselor, Masters Addictions Counselor, etc.). Licensed Mental Health Specialist required upon start from one of the following Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Clinical Psychologist (LCP), or Licensed Substance Abuse Professional (LSATP). Job Responsibilities including but not limited to: The Behavioral Health Therapist 2 PRN assesses and diagnoses mental health and/or substance use disorders through a bio/psycho/social department specific evidenced based assessment. Integrates assessments using information related to cultural, clinical, ethnic, age and other factors into the plan of care. Provides a range of therapeutic interventions, psycho-educational programming and behavioral interventions to assist the patient/family in achieving the goals and objectives of the individualized service plan. Provides care management to ensure the patient and family receive and are subsequently referred to appropriate healthcare and community resources to optimize treatment/intervention outcomes. When indicated by role, participates in inpatient and community psychoeducational programs, facilitates support groups for specified disease processes related to mental health, medical diagnosis and chronic or life-limited illnesses while assisting with community outreach as needed. Performs other duties as assigned.
