Behavioral Health Technician Job Details Job Location Crisis Diversion Home - Mercer - Mercerville, NJ Position Type Full Time Education Level High School Job Shift Any The Behavioral Health Technicians provide mental health services to adults who have a chronic mental illness in a respite setting. Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to any age-related needs of the consumers served. Provide direct supervision of the consumers residing in the residential setting. Provide crisis intervention as needed. Collaborate with community resources to link consumers to appropriate mental health and substance abuse providers. Will provide social skills groups related to the consumer's individual needs. Transport consumers in agency vehicles. Understands medications procedures for the purpose of observing the administration of medications. Must understand the use of Electronic Health Record for chart documentation. Be aware of all safety procedures along with review of the MSDS manuals. Utilize SCM, CPR, and First Aid techniques as needed. Must attend monthly staff meetings. Expected to report to work in inclement weather and/or State of Emergency. The Crisis Diversion Home provides recovery-oriented temporary transitional housing for up to 5 individuals, up to 30 days, within a 24-hour supervised environment. Two staff are on site at all times to provide therapeutic and social supports to consumers in crisis referred from Crisis Receiving Stabilization Centers and Mobile Crisis Outreach Response Teams. Hours: Full time; various shifts available This position has the following benefits: + 3.2 weeks of Paid Time Off during the first year + Medical, vision, dental and life insurance + 403(b) employee participation and employer match + 9 Agency-paid holidays + Training opportunities provided throughout the year Education/Experience: Bachelor's Degree in a mental health discipline or health/human services field and 1 year of full time experience working with consumers; or Associate's Degree with 2 years' experience working with consumers; or a High School Diploma with 4 years' full time experience working with consumers. Ideal candidates must identify as having lived experience with mental illness or substance use and be in recovery. Your driver's license must be in good standing, with no recent suspensions or violations of careless/reckless driving or excessive speeding of more than 20 MPH, and no more than 2 moving violations within the last 3 years.
