We currently have openings on Night shift, 7p-7a.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Prerequisites for this position:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Valid Driver's License and a favorable Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) along with proof of insurance when using personal or facility-owned vehicle.
  • Previous experience in a psychiatric/SUD healthcare facility.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Must be out of recovery for at least 2 years with no relapses.
  • Complete CPR certification and Handle with Care (HWC) within 30 days of employment and prior to any patient contact.
  • Complete additional age-related training, as required, within 30 days of employment.
  • Where applicable, must obtain and maintain agency affiliation.

Preferred experience or credentials:

Competitive candidates will have:

  • Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Recreational Therapy, or other appropriate therapeutic field.
  • CDCA certification preferred.
  • Understanding of the 12-step process.
  • Direct experience working with chemical dependency, dual diagnosis, psychiatric, and geriatric patients.
  • Availability to work overtime, weekends, holidays, and flexible hours as needed.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Observe and maintain a safe, therapeutic patient milieu through patient checks, safety monitoring, etc.
  • Perform tasks delegated by the RN related to the care of the patients including, but not limited to, vital signs, specimen collection, documentation, group education, and patient monitoring.
  • Report all changes, medical or psychiatric, to RN.
  • Assist patients to attend scheduled activities and required groups.
  • Accompany patients to off-unit activities.
  • Promote positive patient experiences; build a positive, healthy relationship with patients.
  • Maintain confidentiality and privacy of patients.
  • Provide appropriate help during emergency situations.
  • Encourage or assist patients to perform activities of daily living.
  • Facilitate patient's rules and responsibilities.
  • Provide pertinent feedback to the interdisciplinary team regarding patient response to treatment interventions to assist in the development and revision of treatment plan.
  • Assist with intake and discharge duties.
  • Attend educational in-services, staff meetings, and timely completion of online competencies.
