Bayside Behavioral Health - Overview:

Our outpatient substance use disorder program is seeking a dynamic and passionate Community Outreach Specialist to play a key role in building connections within the community and facilitating access to our vital services. The ideal candidate will be adept at networking, establishing partnerships, and implementing outreach strategies to increase awareness of our program.

Responsibilities:

Community Engagement:

- Develop and maintain relationships with local community organizations, healthcare providers, schools, and other relevant entities.

- Represent the program at community events, forums, and meetings to promote awareness and understanding of substance use disorder services.

Partnership Development:

- Identify and cultivate partnerships with organizations that can contribute to the program's outreach efforts.

- Collaborate with community leaders and influencers to enhance the program's visibility and credibility.

Educational Initiatives:

- Organize and conduct educational sessions on substance use disorder, prevention, and treatment options for diverse audiences.

- Create and distribute informational materials to increase community understanding of available services.

Referral Network:

- Establish and maintain a network of referral sources, including healthcare providers, social services, and community agencies.

- Provide information about our program to potential referrers and ensure a smooth intake process for referred individuals.

Event Planning:

- Plan and execute community events, workshops, and outreach programs to engage various demographics and promote program services.

- Coordinate logistics, secure venues, and collaborate with internal teams to ensure successful events.

Data Collection and Reporting:

- Track and document outreach activities, including attendance at events, community partnerships, and program referrals.

- Generate regular reports on outreach effectiveness and provide recommendations for improvement.

Crisis Intervention and Support:

- Serve as a point of contact for community members seeking information or assistance related to substance use disorders.

- Connect individuals with appropriate resources and support services as needed.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in a related field (social work, public health, community outreach, etc.) preferred.

- Demonstrated experience in community outreach, relationship building, and partnership development.

- 2 years experience in substance use disorder treatment field and prevention strategies.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

- Strong organizational and project management skills.

- Familiarity with the local community and its resources.

Compensation:

Bayside Behavioral Heath offers a competitive salary and benefits package. This position is also eligible for up to a 10% annual bonus based off achievement of Key Performance Indicators.
