Job summary:

The Behavioral Health Clinician (BHC) assists with all behavioral health needs for individuals receiving services through the Arkansas Support Network. The BHC collaborates closely with Division Managers, Quality and Programming Directors, all members of the ASN Director Team, and agency personnel to ensure that all behavioral health functions are carried out in a manner that enhances and supports the programmatic work performed by ASN staff.

What You'll do:

  • Implements positive behavioral interventions and supports within the community, resulting in sustainable behavioral changes that enhance functioning, improve quality of life, and strengthen skills across various life domains.
  • Provides therapeutic services tailored to children, adolescents, and adults who are at risk of out-of-home placement or who have returned home from residential placement, requiring flexible wrap-around support to ensure safety and facilitate community integration.
  • Offers behavioral health training for direct service staff and/or family members on various topics, including positive behavioral approaches, crisis intervention, sexuality support, community inclusion, human rights, and dignity of risk, to maintain specialized behavioral management programs relevant to the individual.
  • Consults and collaborates with the individual, parents, legal guardians, responsible parties, service providers, and other involved parties to implement the clinical and therapeutic aspects of the individual's plan.
  • Assists individuals receiving services who encounter unexpected or high-risk situations, such as housing loss, employment instability, incarceration, self-harm or harm to others, family conflicts, hospitalization, or other emergencies.
  • Provides consultations on adaptive equipment services to enable individuals to enhance, maintain, or improve their functional capacity for daily life tasks that would otherwise be challenging.
  • Develops and facilitates collaborative responses for people with disabilities in interactions with law enforcement and community partners, aiming to enhance safety for all through skills training, interventions, and resource coordination.
  • Oversees the internal response team to address and resolve crisis situations, providing ongoing proactive support aligned with the beneficiary's needs and their family's circumstances through behavior support planning, safety planning, staff training, and referrals to community resources.
  • Maintains accurate and confidential records, files, charts, and other documents, while gathering, compiling, and analyzing data for management purposes and preparing reports as needed.
  • Ensures compliance with state and federal regulations regarding confidentiality of individuals' information.
  • Continuously learns and evaluates new techniques, including evidence-based practices, to better support individuals facing mental health, substance use, emotional, behavioral, and environmental challenges.

Travel throughout the community and statewide is sometimes required and mileage reimbursement is provided.


What You'll need:

  • Master's degree and clinical license in social work, counseling, or a related field.
  • Ability to apply an intersectionality framework when providing behavioral health services for individuals with disabilities.
  • Strong communication, active listening, empathy, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
  • Experience with direct support for individuals with disabilities is preferred.
