Job Summary Job Summary Under the direction of the general supervision of the school principal and PBIS Coach, within a broad framework of standard policies and procedures work as a team with the teacher, school counselor, administration to provide additional support to students with high behavior needs. This position is intended to provide behavioral support to general education students and support the general education teacher in order to implement consistent positive behavior management strategies. View Job Description Requirements / Qualifications Education and Experience: Any combination of experience and training which would indicate possession of the knowledge, skills and abilities listed herein. Completion of two years of college or equivalent. Two years' experience working with students. At least one year working with students in an educational setting is desired. Specialized training in the areas of manual physical restraint, Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI), Positive Behavior Support Systems and data collection desired. Coursework in psychology, child growth and development, education, special education or other related field. ESSA Compliance - Due to funding, all Behavior Intervention Facilitators must be ESSA (Every Student Succeeds Act) compliant. Must pass Paraprofessional Exam (This test can be taken at the Santa Cruz City Schools District Office) or have equivalence of two years college completion or AA degree. Education may be substituted for experience. The hours for this position are 8:15 AM to 2:45 PM Monday through Friday with an unpaid 30-minute lunch break.
