ANWSD is seeking a Behavior Interventionist to work in our alternative program supporting students with autism and low incidence disabilities. Staff work to teach their students effective communication skills, social skills, functional academic skills, self-help/personal care skills, functional life skills, community participation skills and vocational skills. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Collaborates with teachers to develop and implement behavior plans Monitors behavior plans Assists in supervising students in designated sites to optimize good behavior Encourages and supports appropriate social skills, interactions with peers, and conversation with partners and small groups as they relate to behavior Collects and maintains data on student performance necessary to the development of goals and objectives related to behavior Understands and works within the confines of a multi-tiered system of support related to behavior Assesses and reports program data to educational teams to support individual student progress in terms of appropriate behavior Apply and implement techniques per CPI guidelines Make sound judgements Quickly adapt to changing situations Perform tasks within a structured time frame Communicate effectively Compile and maintain records Maintain sensitivity to ethnic, religious, cultural, sexual, and learning differences Qualifications and Education: Successful candidates should have a two or four year college degree and must be a registered behavior technician or willing to option this certification through the School District. RBT's are required annually to pass the RBT Competency Assessment, complete a renewal, receive ongoing supervision, and comply with BCBA's ethics requirements relevant to RBT's.
