Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS) is seeking a Subject Matter Expert (SME) Advanced Information Technologist to join our growing Data Analytics Engineering & Integration team in Ridley Park, PA, Seattle, WA, or Hazelwood, MO . This team is tasked with transforming the way BDS data is sourced, managed, and utilized to unlock insights to drive business growth and optimization. The team supports data needs for internal stakeholders, across BDS business programs and functions, and is tasked with utilizing data to inform and improve the full lifecycle of BDS products. As a SME Advanced Information Technologist - Cloud Architecture, you will be a thought leader in how to design, implement, manage, scale, and secure cloud architecture in support of the BDS Data Analytics Platform leveraging modern cloud architecture design, hybrid cloud technologies, data migration technologies, and others. You will be responsible for crafting the architectural vision, defining the reference architecture, infrastructure, and environment necessary to host and operate the BDS Analytics Data Platform and oversee the implementation. This role requires a resourceful, self-driven, outcome-oriented individual with meticulous attention to detail and the ability to partner, execute, and communicate skillfully, while solving complex problems in dynamic environments. The ideal candidate will have experience with large scale data platforms, enterprise architecture, cloud computing, hybrid clouds, software development, and requirements management. Position Responsibilities: Participates in all aspects of agile software development, including design, implementation, and deployment.
Defines the architecture strategy and oversee implementation, operation, and sustainment for the BDS Analytics Data Platform
Assesses the business impact that certain technical choices have. Directs the identification and recommendation of appropriate solutions, upgrades, replacements, or decommissioning options incorporating business and technology productivity, usability, and total cost of ownership
Advocates and defines cloud data architecture vision, including internal and external platforms, tools, and systems
Engages and partners with senior technical leadership to help shape and align the BDS Analytics Data Platform strategy
Leads development of plans, roadmaps, schedules, and budgets for build out and maturation of the data platform
Manages progress to plan, risks, and opportunities with team members, program leadership, stakeholders, and customers
Works closely and collaborates with partner and enterprise technical organizations This position is hybrid. This means that the selected candidate will be required to perform 1 day per week onsite at one of the listed location options. This is at the hiring team's discretion and could potentially change in the future. This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required. Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience): 10+ years of experience leading architecture, technology, or software development
5+ years of experience leading development of cloud architecture
5+ years of experience developing project plans and schedules
Experience translating business requirements into technical specifications
Experience with cross-functional collaboration Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience): Technical Bachelor's degree
Experience with AWS GovCloud
1+ years of Agile and/or SAFe Agile
Experience with micro-services architecture and familiarity with multi-cloud architectures
Experience with containers and container orchestration technologies
Experience with Databricks
Experience in the aviation industry or other regulated industries
Experience of working within a multinational matrix management environment / structure and a large-scale, sophisticated international organization
