Position: Battery Hardware Test Engineer

Location: Cupertino, CA

Duration: 12 Months with possible extension

Pay rate: $55/hr. to $63/hr.

As part of our collaborative environment, you'll help craft advanced battery designs that redefine industry standards. Working closely with cross-functional teams, you'll lead the charge in developing cutting-edge battery technologies, enhancing the user experience of our products worldwide.

In this role, you'll leverage your expertise as a test engineer to oversee the testing process for next-generation consumer electronics battery packs. Collaborating with fellow engineers and technicians, you'll develop test procedures, execute tests, and analyze results to ensure the reliability and performance of our battery solutions.

Key Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in electrical engineering.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in laboratory testing, with a strong understanding of Battery Management Unit (BMU) protections.
  • Proficiency in using electrical engineering bench test equipment such as oscilloscopes, meters, data-loggers, and power supplies.
  • Extensive experience in lab environments, demonstrating a proactive attitude and a drive for results.
  • Ability to make technical decisions based on data and effectively communicate complex technical issues.
  • Self-motivated with excellent time management skills and a passion for fast-paced teamwork.
  • Strong documentation and communication abilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently under pressure and in dynamic environments.
  • Track record of successfully conducting tests, including data processing and summarization.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with test platforms, including Automated Test Equipment (ATE) using data acquisition and control software such as Python or similar scripting languages.

Description:

  • Perform battery electrical engineering tests and deliver accurate result reports.
  • Generate key metrics to support daily lab activities.
  • Review BMU schematics and layouts for conformance and testability verification.
  • Conduct investigations and prepare reports to support findings.
  • Develop test plans, procedures, and analyze data for validation activities.
  • Setup and operate complex test setups utilizing high-precision test equipment.
  • Troubleshoot equipment and sample issues, addressing test equipment problems as necessary.
  • Utilize various measurement equipment to test batteries and cells.

Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering.



Rate/Salary: $55/hr. to $63/hr.
