What You'll Get To Do The Loader Operator is responsible for operating heavy equipment in a safe and appropriate manner. The Loader Operator must also maintain all equipment as directed per policies, procedures, and operator manuals. + Responsible for the safe operation of front-end loader to lift and transport bulk materials to and from storage areas, to feed conveyors, hoppers and to load trucks or railcars. + Verify amount of aggregate in storage bins and fill hoppers to ensure adequate quantity and quality of raw materials is maintained. + Perform routine maintenance on loaders, such as lubricating, fueling, and cleaning. + Participate in making sure the quality and quantity of raw materials meets established standards. + Ensure assigned established performance indicators are met. + Work toward improvement of the assigned plant and surrounding area. + Follow established environmental procedures to ensure that the plant for which he/she is working is in compliance with state, federal, and local regulations and requirements. + Participate in ongoing minor maintenance and visual evaluations of plant and equipment. + Work with plant manager, batch person, and other personnel to resolve problems, provide immediate feedback, and may recommend solutions to improve performance. + May haul cement and/or additives from storage area in bulk or bags. + Adhere to all Heidelberg Materials and OSHA rules and regulations at all times and wear proper safety equipment while on plant grounds. + Comply with company safety standards. + Perform other job responsibilities as assigned by management. + Communicate repair and safety issues to supervisor and/or mechanic. + Responsible for cleaning the plant throughout the day. + Performing daily dust collector and pugmill clean out. + Routine shoveling and clean-up of entire plant area. + Frequently lift 10 lbs; occasionally lift up to 100 lbs.
