We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Bankruptcy Associate to join our dynamic team in San Antonio, TX. This is a hybrid role, combining both in-office and remote work for flexibility and work-life balance. As a Bankruptcy Associate, you will be an integral part of our legal team, providing comprehensive advice and representation to our clients in bankruptcy proceedings. This role requires a deep understanding of bankruptcy law, excellent negotiation skills, and the ability to draft and negotiate corporate and restructuring transactions. You will be representing both debtors and creditors, making strong oral and written communication skills a must.

Job Details

Responsibilities:
  • Provide legal representation to clients during bankruptcy proceedings, including both individuals and businesses.
  • Draft and negotiate corporate and restructuring transactions to protect client interests.
  • Advise clients on the legal aspects of bankruptcy, including the filing process, types of bankruptcy, and the potential implications of each.
  • Represent both debtors and creditors, ensuring their rights and interests are protected throughout the bankruptcy process.
  • Conduct research and analysis of legal problems to inform case strategy.
  • Interpret laws, rulings, and regulations for individuals and businesses.
  • Present evidence to defend clients or prosecute defendants in bankruptcy litigation.
  • Work collaboratively with our legal team to develop effective strategies and arguments in preparation for court appearances.

Qualifications:
  • J.D. degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the Texas Bar.
  • 2-5 years of experience as a bankruptcy attorney.
  • Proven experience in drafting and negotiating corporate and restructuring transactions.
  • Demonstrated ability to represent both debtors and creditors in bankruptcy proceedings.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively present complex legal arguments.
  • Excellent negotiation skills and the ability to resolve disputes favorably for clients.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in legal research tools and software.
  • High ethical standards and professional integrity.
