Our client is an industry leader Infrastructure, Network and Storage solutions. They are looking for a Back-up and Storage Systems Engineer. This role will primarily focus on managing backup operations for our on-premises data centers running Linux and Windows operating systems, leveraging a combination of Dell, Commvault and legacy mainframe tape storage systems.

Required Skills & Experience - .
- 8-12 years of experience with planning, designing, and installing enterprise backup solutions.
- Experience with SpectraLogic tape drives and CommVault COTS software.
- Proficiency in VMWare ESXi infrastructure and various backup methodologies for virtualized environments.
- Strong Linux administrative skills, including experience with patching and maintaining backup servers.
What You Will Be Doing - Plan, design, and install enterprise backup solutions to ensure data integrity and availability.
- Provide backup and restore support for two on-premises data centers, managing backup operations for Linux and Windows environments.
- Configure and manage backup infrastructure using SpectraLogic tape drives and CommVault COTS software.
- Perform Linux administrative activities, including maintaining a stable backup/restore environment and patching backup servers.
- Utilize expertise in VMWare ESXi infrastructure to implement various backup methodologies for virtualized environments.
- Work independently to provide input and recommendations during the design phase of backup infrastructure projects.
- Troubleshoot complex problems related to backup solutions and implement effective resolutions.
- Configure and install enterprise backup solutions, as well as manage clients running backup software.
- Evaluate and suggest newer backup technologies to improve efficiency and move away from tape backups.
- Document backup procedures, configurations, and troubleshooting steps.
