Nesco Resource is searching for an experienced POWDERCOAT PAINT TECHNICIAN to join a long-established Automotive manufacturer. This is a 1st shift, direct hire opportunity.

Schedule: 5am to 1pm, Monday through Friday with occasional Saturdays
Pay Rate: 20/hr to 25/hr, based on level of experience willing to negotiate

JOB SUMMARY:

Operate and maintain state-of-the-art powder application equipment to produce a zero-defect Class A surface coating using appropriate application techniques of electrostatic powder coating.

RESPONSIBILITIES (INCLUDE, BUT NOT LIMITED TO):
  • Set machine process parameters for proper operation and ensure that approved paint is used
  • Manage coating process, adjusting parameters where and when needed
  • Document all changes made to the equipment and process during coating
  • Visually inspect all parts for flaws before the curing process
  • Visually verify 1st piece finished product complies with established quality standards
  • Perform inspection paint plaque using micrometer, impact tester, and MEK
  • Monitor and perform general equipment maintenance after on the job training is complete
  • Recognizes the need for Maintenance staff involvement for advanced repairs
  • Monitor washer line baths, including titrations
  • Maintains a clean working environment free from debris that will negatively impact the finished product. Including but not limited to sweeping, trash removal, and wipe-down equipment
  • Make suggestions for continuous improvements
  • Work directly with manufacturing engineers to accomplish repeatable coatings on multiple part types
  • Perform other tasks as assigned

REQUIREMENTS AND EXPERIENCE:
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 3 years' manufacturing environment preferred
  • 3 years' experience in powder coating process preferred ideally in the automotive industry
  • Ability to communicate professionally, both written and verbally
  • Ability to read and comprehend verbal and written instructions
  • Previous GEMA equipment experiences preferred
  • Must be able to perform all essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
