Nesco Resource is seeking an Automation Techncian to join our client's machine shop in Victor, NY.

Summary:
Provide Control panel build, machine wiring, pneumatics, and hydraulic build for custom equipment. Power on, debug, and troubleshoot machine processes as needed.
Responsibilities:
- Build equipment according to supplied drawings and specifications.
- Attend project meetings.
- Guide and/or lead resources on a project.
- Review and update estimates to complete (ETC's).
- Provide rework and print redlines.
Essential Duties:
- Study blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, and specifications.
- Collaborate with engineers and production personnel to resolve wiring or assembly problems.
- Make modifications to as-built prints and communicate with engineers for project success.
- Suggest basic component purchases (e.g., wire-way, terminal blocks).
- Perform panel build activities.
- Assemble pneumatic air prep units and valve banks.
- Wire from controls cabinet to machine-mounted devices.
- Dress in cabling and tubing for proper machine operation.
- Verify initial power-on device operation.
- Assist with machine debug.
- Travel for project installation.
- Make technical decisions per the given specs and guidelines.
Qualification Requirements:
- Education and/or experience: Minimum Vocational or Associates Degree with 2 or more years of related work experience preferred or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Language skills: Effective verbal/written communication, ability to read and interpret technical procedures, and write reports.
- Characteristics necessary to perform the job include dependability, flexibility, time management skills, initiative, creativity, organizational skills, good judgment, ability to take directions, and the ability to work well with others and independently.
- Mathematical skills: Ability to apply basic math concepts and basic electrical fundamentals.
- Reasoning ability: Ability to solve practical problems, adapt to changing conditions, and make decisions guided by precedent.
