Autism Specialist The Autism Specialists work with staff and students to provide support to enable the student's maximum self-sufficiency, involvement, and success in the school environment. Terms of Employment Pay Grade 74, 10 months, State Salary and Benefits Duties and Responsibilities Provides support in achieving targeted goals for individuals with Autism Spectrum Disoder. Goals include development or enhancement of communication skills, social interaction skills, positive behavior management, self-care and self-direction as documented in the individuals' service plans. Participates in IEP meetings and progress assessment meetings to provide feedback, and recommendations for the development or revision of goals and strategies Works with the EC Specialists to plan professional development and complete the Autism Strategic Plan for the district Documents and collects data that pertains to delivery of services (behavioral data, service summaries, etc.) Collaborates with the EC Leadership Team about ASD services, strategic planns and specific student cases Establishes good communication with staff, families and community agencies Consults with school and district staff about ASD related topics/issues Represents the district at regional and state ASD meetings Minimum Requirements: Bachelors Degree preferably in Special Education or a related field with experience related to ASD Experience with Autism Spectrum Disorder (working with individuals with ASD, providing professional development related to ASD, creating and implementing the use of vidual schedules, stategies working for students with ASD, behavior strategies, etc.), Salary will be determined based on education and experience.
