Job Purpose

Lead NA regional line control system serving as a business system expert developing and directing system strategy, standardization and diffusion across all North American manufacturing plants ensuring robust, repeatable, and controlled processes are in place to maximize business value and support plant characteristics enhancement.



Key Accountabilities

  • Lead the development and implementation of strategies including plans & targets to standardize, simplify and improve the business operating capabilities of the GALC system.
  • Lead regional improvement to standardize system processes, work standards and methods to support the sustainment and governance of all aspects of an enterprise-wide manufacturing line control system.
  • Lead projects/themes of varied complexity and scope through collaboration with team (plant, IT, regional engineering) including current system enhancements and feasibility studies for future products.
  • Work effectively with local plant departments and regional IT to ensure system standards are created, documented, and sustained
  • Lead change point control. Organize testing, verification, and documentation of system changes. Confirm system requirements are met during appropriate UAT timing and assure countermeasure application on system before change release.
  • Supervise assigned staff, managing group resources, performing succession planning for key group functions, promoting associate development (through capability assessments, career development planning participation, and performance reviews).



Qualifications, Experience, and Skills

Minimum Educational Requirements:

Bachelors degree in any of engineering areas: Industrial/Systems, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or any other equivalent degree provided with the required experience


Minimum Experience:

8+ years experience in MES with focus on the automotive Industry w/ Bachelors degree
12+ years experience with relevant responsibilities


Other Job-Specific Skills:

Systems technology experience in MES systems (GALC or equivalent), knowledge of data management systems, manufacturing process project design & implementation, MS Office. Thorough understanding of Honda Philosophy and Core Values



Job Dimensions

No. of Direct Reports: 1-4
No. of Indirect Reports: 4-8 (plant representatives working as regional committee), 6-8 (IT team). Frequent interaction with plant leadership (Delivery, Quality & Management Teams)
Financial Dimensions: $200K (direct), $1M (indirect-IT & Plant implementations)



Decisions Expected

  • Determine system strategy/direction (optimal tool function to achieve business process) to direct IT on path forward
  • Create functional requirements
  • Allocate resources and assign tasks to ensure targets are met



Working Conditions

  • Hybrid position, preferred Ohio site
  • 90% office, 10% production floor (go to the spot)
  • Travel to plant or special assignment
